Will I be considered if I only have 1 reference?

Hello,
I just had a quick question about reference. How many references do you have to have on file before your application is looked at?

Also, what if you are only able to obtain a reference from 1 or your previous employers (in terms of contacting them via email or phone) but you have tons of written references on company letter head and with signatures?

I seem to have run into a problem where I cant seem to reach some of my references via email but don't want t miss out on the current hiring opportunities.

Any insight would be appreciated.

    Hi Latoya, the references section is optional in the initial stage. You don't need to fill out the references section until after your initial pre-screen, and we will look at your application regardless of whether that section is filled out. After your initial pre-screen though, you will need a minimum of 3 references that we can call. Unfortunately we cannot accept written references at this time. I suggest that once you reach that stage of the hiring process and your placement coordinator asks you for references, you should call your previous employers to see if they can help out. Your placement coordinator may have some other ideas for how you can approach this as well.
