Hello
Checking on status of applications submitted and if reasons are given when they submit "CLOSED
Thank-you
Sincerely Vickey
Hi Vickey, unfortunately if your application status is "closed", that means your application was unsuccessful. Please make sure you double check the job requirements of the positions you're applying for and ensure you have relevant teaching experience. Good luck!
Regarding the closed status. One of my applications was closed, but I still got an email to my personal email address from the school site. Is that normal? I only ask because in your original reply to Vicky you mentioned that a closed status means an application was unsuccessful.
Holly
Hi Holly, I just checked and it seems that one job you're talking about is a "direct to school job" -- which means we don't do the recruiting for them. This could be a mistake on their part, if they accidentally clicked "close" on their dashboard. If you've heard back from them directly via email, this hopefully means that you are a candidate of interest, and I suggest you chat with them to find out more about the opportunity!
Hello Janice, I have applied for a few other jobs and would like some information regarding qualifications, age and experience. I have a Bachelors and Masters in Education and have taught a variety of subjects but I am retired and looking forward to some new opportunities and offering my expertise and skill set . Does this pose a problem? Any suggestions for further applications or do you think it may not be feasible to teach specifically in the UAE. Any input would be helpful for improvements or just a reality check. Thank-you. Respectfully submitted, Vickey
Hi Vickey, there are some age restrictions set out by the UAE government with regards to work visas, and unfortunately, we cannot place candidates because of these restrictions. We wish we could!
Thanks for letting me know as I have applied for many jobs. What exactly are the age restrictions? Obviously credentials make no difference if you are considered "too old"" in the eyes of the UAE. Any idea if that has been the case for myself? Suggestions? Thank-you
Hi Janice, I have had a few applications closed which didn't have requirements for 2 years, I was wondering why this may be?
Hello Janice, Now all jobs are closed- There are many jobs still posted but if the status is closed why are they still on the website? Or does that mean application is rejected? Still a bit confused if I should continue applying- I have a BED subjects English, ESL, PE and SS. Masters in Administrative Leadership and have experience in administration (VP Principal) Secondary School Summer Programs. At this time are all jobs completely full and again is there any feedback given or response to applications with my completed cover letters, resumes, reference letters and qualifications. It is quite the process and still no courtesy response or is that an administrative nightmare to respond to all applicants? Please respond as I am still unsure of the feasibility or possibility of getting a job and continuing with the process. Thank-you
Hi Vickey, unfortunately we receive thousands of job applications a week and aren't able to notify each candidate regarding each job application and reason. For the UAE specifically, they will not issue work visas to those over the age of 60, inclusive of the contract length. (For example, if the contract is 2 years, then 58 is the max.) Hope that helps, Vickey.
Thank-you! You have answered the reasons for all the CLOSED applications regardless of my awards, credentials, teaching and administration experience. Too bad age is a problem and too bad I went to all the trouble to get my references, certificates, cover letters, submissions etc. Perhaps you should state that on your website so that anyone 58 or over should not bother applying. Sincerely, Vickey
