I have a doctorate in American History and passed the Florida Teacher Certification Exam (FTCE) for grade 6-12 Social Science and have a *provisional (/professional) certificate which means that it is up to the hiring school to "supervise" my teaching and finalize / make permanent my Florida Teacher Certification. I have seven years' experience teaching at a community college and a Research I institution, and all of this Florida teacher certification nonsense seems absurd & designed to exclude those whose bachelors degree isn't "education." I have a strong pedagogical background and recently worked in higher education administration. Am I placeable? Anywhere? For anything? (I'm not desperate, mind you, just very flexible & open to possibilities!) Heeeeeeelllllpp!
Thanks in advance,
K. Rubin
