Hi everyone,
I am looking for positions in the UAE, preferably 2016.
I would appreciate any tips and advice, as I would like my husband (IT field, not a teacher) to accompany me.
Thank you in advance.

Kia ora Anri,
Les Hoerara here from New Zealand. Obviously, if you've made it into this forum, you've completed your dashboard 100%. I'm assuming (with the contacts I've had so far via postings as well) though I have not heard back from any of the jobs I applied for YET, that for jobs in the UAE, that once you have applied, the rest is a waiting game. irrespective of any tips or advice I can provide in regards to your husband (though a significant part of a move and the job offer), sort gaining a job first and the rest (husband) will fall into place. In your dashboard (profile) marital status can help you get placed, though have heard that single people too seem easiest to place rather than families. Yet have also heard the opposite. Much of what the job asks for is how good a match you are for the job you have applied for. Similarly, some posts ask specifically for women and some do not, so read well whatever the job you desire. My last piece of advice would be to apply for as many jobs that suit you, possibly to widen your appeal to others, either through a recruitment company or directly through the schools.
Finally, I've applied for five posts since 20th March (two at private schools and three at institutions). The schools I'll deal with one-to-one whilst the other three are done through teachaway.
I hope this helps?
Les
Thanks for your reply Les, Im down in Chch and have just signed up and started applying too so I found it really helpful. I have noticed that there is no closing date on the advertisements...guess that means you just wait and wait until you get notified if you were successful? I have a hubby & 3 young children so have been concerned that might be a strike against me with so many dependents but Im hoping my years of experience and leadership might help make me more appealing :)
