Hi all,
have you had a skype interview yet? How was it like? What questions did they ask? How long did it take? I have my first one on Sunday and feel quite nervous. I have never done that and have no idea what to expect.
I have intrest in teaching professionals. And I would like to children's education. Am proof that my knowledge. Thank you so much.
Ive had skype interviews and my best advice is to dress for success. It might sound silly but wear something that you would wear if you were actually going to an office for the interview. My interviewer made me very confortable. Answer honestly and try to have some knowledge of the school that is interviewing you. Also ask about curriculum, do they provide books and lesson plans, single housing or do you have to have a roommate, how close is the housing to school? Stuff like that, have your questions written down so you dont forget anything. Oh and ask about how many hours you will be working. My interview took 30 to 60 minutes just depending on response times and your questions..Dont be nervous..:)
thank you so much for sharing your experience. I will try not to be nervous, but I think it is almost impossible to stay calm :)
It is no different from you using Skype to talk to family and friends. Just be professional and answer the questions that you are asked. Be famiilar with the culture the school curriculum. They might ask about how you deal with problem. Why do you want to teach in that particular country? You may be asked to tell about a lesson that you have taught.
Would you mind sharing some of the questions you were given, please?
Greetings, I had a Skype interview last week! I was casket sharp from Head to Waist! Make sure you have good lighting, silence all noise around you if possible, and kennel the dog. My interviewer was Awesome, he was very kind and resourceful. Some of the questions asked went like this: 1. What would a math lesson look like in your classroom? 2. What is your classroom management like? 3. How do you handle feedback (good and bad)? 4. How did you hear about teaching abroad? Why do you want to teach abroad? 5. What is your experience with Common Core? Then we spent about 30 minutes having casual conversation, I had a lot of questions and he patiently answered each on in great detail. Hope this helps!
