How do I get started? Is it a difficult process??

Hello,
My name is Charmaine from McDonough, GA and I am very interested in teaching abroad. I would love to teach in either UAE or Saudi Arabia. Most of my teaching have been college and university students. I have also been working as a substitute teacher for public school PreK-K12. I recently completed my TESOL certification of 120 hours and I have a 12 year old daughter as well. I am eager to get started soon and have applied for a few positions. Is the process typically easy?

    Hello Charmaine:

    Welcome to the forum! The process is easy! First you will need to create a profile with Teach Away (if you have already done this, read through). After you have created a profile, you will be able to apply directly for jobs by clicking the "Apply" button, making this your second step. Once you have applied to the positions you are interested in, our Placement Coordinators and the schools we work with will review your application and will contact you if you are being considered for an initial interview within 1-2 weeks (This is for all non-direct to schools positions). Unfortunately, due to the volume of applications we receive, we can only reply to candidates who are being considered to move forward. You can always check the status of your application by clicking the "My Applications" tab in your teacher Dashboard, making this your step 3!

    You may also notice jobs that are labeled "Direct to School Jobs." For these positions, you will not be contacted by a Placement Coordinator, but will be contacted directly by the school itself if they would like to consider you for an interview.
