Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly qualified Assistant Curriculum Lead for English to join our education team. The Assistant Curriculum Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the English curriculum, supporting the professional development of teaching staff, and ensuring our English program aligns with best practices and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with school leaders to design, review, and implement the English curriculum.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to English department teachers in curriculum planning, instructional strategies, and assessment methods.
  • Contribute to, and drive forward, the department's Reading Strategy.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in English education and integrate them into the curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student performance data to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for enhancing student achievement in English.
  • Assist in the selection of instructional materials, textbooks, and technology resources to support the English curriculum.
  • Support the recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of English department staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment in English classrooms.
  • Create a culture of inquiry, critical thinking, and scientific exploration among students.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant education laws, regulations, and policies.

Qualifications & Requirements

Teaching Credential/License
Bachelor
English

Qualifications:

  • Degree in English Education or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of current English curriculum standards and best practices in English education.
  • Previous leadership experience in an educational setting, preferably as a department head or in a similar leadership role.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders.
  • Passion for English education and a commitment to inspiring students in the field.
  • Alignment with the mission and values of Manor School.
