Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly qualified Assistant Curriculum Lead for English to join our education team. The Assistant Curriculum Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the English curriculum, supporting the professional development of teaching staff, and ensuring our English program aligns with best practices and academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with school leaders to design, review, and implement the English curriculum.
- Provide leadership and guidance to English department teachers in curriculum planning, instructional strategies, and assessment methods.
- Contribute to, and drive forward, the department's Reading Strategy.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in English education and integrate them into the curriculum.
- Monitor and assess student performance data to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for enhancing student achievement in English.
- Assist in the selection of instructional materials, textbooks, and technology resources to support the English curriculum.
- Support the recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of English department staff.
- Collaborate with teachers to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment in English classrooms.
- Create a culture of inquiry, critical thinking, and scientific exploration among students.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant education laws, regulations, and policies.
