Does my degree and teaching license need to match?

Hi,

So I asked this question today during the webinar session but I don't think all of the question was read before I received my response.  My question was, “Does my teaching license and degree need to match?  I have a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a Masters in Special Education.  My teaching license is in Special Education, can I apply for Physical Education positions?” I was told I can, I just wanted to make sure.

    Hi Anika,

    Sorry we couldn't answer your question on the webinar. I just took a look at your profile and for your particular case, we recommend that you apply to Special Education positions. You'll be more likely to get a position in this because your most recent education (Masters) and your most recent experience is in this subject, as opposed to PE.

    The question was answered but I didn't think it was right. Yes, this does clarify things for me.
