Dual Certified but not teaching one subject lately

I am certified to teach Middle School Science and High School Biology as well as French. I have over 20 years of experience. For the last 8 years, I've only been teaching French. Will that make schools unwilling to hire me for a Science positon? There are Science positions, but hardly any French ones. What are my chances of being hired for a Science position? Does someone have any experience with this situation?  I don't want to waste my time looking at these positions.

    If you've only been teaching French in the past 8 years and not Science, this could be difficult for some schools. You'll need to have a solid reason for why you switched and why you would be qualified teach in Science again (as well as why it still interests you etc.) If you're flexible and ready to teach abroad in a short period of time, schools that are trying to fill last minute positions are typically more lenient.
