Hoping someone/s can advise...

We're a family of 4.

Two kiddies -  12 year old son who finds it a challenge to fit in... Slightly quirky! Daughter, 8 - she'll be fine anywhere.

Hubby qualified as a teacher in South Africa but didn't do QTS. (Secondary Maths and Science with a computing minor). Currently working as a 'Learning Resource Manager' in a school. He could teach or perform other roles.

I'm a primary school assistant head. Did an HDE in education in South Africa - 2:1 honors degree equivalent according to UK Naric.

Where would be a family-friendly place to work? Willing to embrace cultural differences! :-)

    Hello Michele;

    Welcome to the forum and great question!

    The key for you is to look for the positions that offer the right benefit packages. Ideally, a parent moving abroad to teach would receive airfare, tuition, accommodation, and other perks for their children. Positions offering this full package do exist with Teach Away. There are also positions that offer one or some of these benefits.

    If you’re an educator seeking a job that offers benefits for your children, the trick is to keep your eyes peeled and to apply for Teach Away jobs that list benefits for dependents or for eligible family members.

    Thank you Shirin - your comment is much appreciated.
    As there are two of us, both teachers, I'm not sure where to start looking. I'm aware that if we are applying separately we may end up in very different locations and that would not be a feasible family option!

    I also don't know how important it is to have QTS - hubby doesn't have this although he is a qualified teacher.

    It's really difficult to browse jobs without this information. I did try to ask by emailing TeachAway directly but it doesn't seem that this is the sort of advice they are able to give which leaves me unable to navigate the site and apply for jobs.

    Hi there. All countries are family friendly. However, not all jobs and schools are. Since both you and your husband are qualified teachers you should be looking to work at international schools. These schools offer great positions with maximum benefits like half or free tuition for your kids, flight tickets or moving allowances, subsidized housing or free apartments, and also reliable help in processing visas and work permits. If your having trouble viewing these options you might want to directly visit your desired schools' websites. You can then come back to teach away and make you selections so that their professionals can guide you through the rest of the process.
