    I would like to ask about the teaching jobs in Taiwan with HESS. Are non-native speakers with certifications eligible to apply? It is not stated in the descriptions of requirements.

    Hi Wei-Sam,

    Generally for English teaching positions, candidates will be asked to have native proficiency of English.

    I applied as well and would like feedback on my profile if possible. Also, I could not upload some documents because of the file size. In addition, I am excited and searched for jobs in Dubai. Can someone inform me of the process?

    Welcome to the Teach Away Community! It seems most of your profile is complete, and you have applied to relevant teaching positions. Once you've uploaded your documentation, you can continue to apply to jobs that align with your degree and experience! The max for file sizes is 8mb -- are you scanning in your documentation? You can do each document separately. Please let me know if that works for you and if you're able to upload them.

    Hi.
    Im looking to teach English in China, I only have a BA (not in English or education) and I have seven years experience of being a Teaching Assistant, would I have a change to apply?
    Also, though I am a native English speaker, I do not hold a citizenship in an English-speaking country, will that hurt my chances too?

    Hi Mai,

    Most of our ESL specific teaching positions in China do not necessarily require a Bachelor of Education degree. To find these jobs, click the green "find teaching jobs" button on the top right, and filter "job category" with ESL teachers. You can also filter by country at this time too. Once you find jobs you're interested in, you can click into the individual job postings to view the job requirements. Please note, typically, schools prefer ESL teachers to have a native proficiency of English.

    Hallo, i'm a Mathematics and Science educator from Malawi, but currently teaching in South Africa at a public school. Sometimes when i want to apply for the posted jobs, they specify about South African passport holders only. I would like to know if passport origin matters most and that other countries like Malawi are considered, or we just worst our time applying for something we will never get?

    Hi Francis,

    Great question. If the job posting and job requirements specifically requires teachers from a particular country, then this is typically due to either visa requirements or because of the school curriculum. Unless it says "preferred" instead of "required", we typically will not proceed with candidates from other countries. However, we highly recommend you to apply for other positions that you qualify for!

    Do we have to upload our teaching certificates in the application to be considered for a position or can we give you the state info and our personal certificate lookup? A position closed that I applied for and my application is 100% completed. Thanks.

    Hi Sandy, you can upload these later, but please make sure you have these documents. Some schools may ask to see this later in the interview process, so having them uploaded will not hurt. Also, you will very likely need to have these documents for your visa application to teach abroad as well.
