My husband and I are both teachers looking to teach abroad, either in the Middle East, Qatar, Kuwait, or Kazakhstan. Has anyone gone through Teach Away to be placed with their partners? Do you typically get placed in the same city/school?
I am looking for info on this also. My partner and I are both secondary school teachers, if that helps.
Hi Yvette and Daniel, Being placed in the same city and school is entirely dependent on which program you land a job with. ADEC (Abu Dhabi Education Council) for example, does hire couples (you must be married) and they will arrange for you to live in the same city and housing but not necessarily the same school.
I recommend applying for jobs individually through the Teach Away website. Once you hear back from a recruiter you can ask about teaching opportunities for couples.
