I'm wondering what skills are in highest demand and make applicants stand out.
Hi Meneca, the most important thing for Middle East positions is having relevant teaching experience. For example, if you have experience teaching math to high school students, you should apply to math teaching positions for high school students. Also, if you're looking to apply for English teaching positions, you could consider a TEFL certificate.
I checked out your teaching profile and it seems you have great experience, so I'd definitely encourage you to apply to more relevant positions that interest you.
I recently joined the TEACH AWAY with my wife but we have practically received nothing, yet we are applying. could this mean they do not want our qualifications?
It seems your Education has not been filled out properly ("masters" is filled out as both subject and degree.) If you could change this and reapply to more science teaching positions, that might help.
Good day, how do i apply for a TEFL certificate and with who.
Hi Jennifer, we have teamed up with the University of Toronto to offer an online TEFL certificate if you're interested: https://www.teachaway.com/tefl-certification
Is the TEFL certificate affordable? How much does it run?
Holly
The TEFL certificate is the most widely recognized ESL certificate, so it's a bit pricier compared to TESOL or CELTA. The one we have in partnership with the University of Toronto starts at $995. You can find more info on the TEFL site: https://teflonline.teachaway.com/
Hi Janice
I am currently doing a TEFL global language training 150 hour course. I'm not sure if this course is recognized by teach-away. I am also a lecturer with a postgrad qualification and a certified educator in my country. What are the chances of me getting accepted to teach English in the UAE?
Thank you in advance. Shalom
