Why is it so difficult for me to find a job?

Dear Teachaway moderators and members, 

I have completed MA and MTeach (Education) and BA and MA (Psychology) and have been working in a supplementary school as a Secondary Teacher for the last four years. Also, I have been applying both locally and internationally (through portals and directly on school websites) to many schools since February and have'nt heard from even one school. Could someone guide me about whether there is something lacking with my experience/ qualificaitons/ resume layout or something else. Any support will be really valuable for my future endeavors.

    Hi Sufina;

    Welcome to the forum! I just had a look at your profile and noticed that you do not have any teaching qualifications (ie. teaching license or TEFL).To strengthen your profile I would recommend you to receive some teacher training, or if you already are a certified teacher, don't forgot to add the information to your profile.

    Hello! Could anyone explain to me why I have stood no chances so far of getting hired? I have applied for English Language Teaching positions whose requirements I meet but still no luck! I am talking about schools in the Middle East! What would make my application stand out and be considered? I would appreciate any sort of help!

    Welcome to the forum! If your application status is "closed" -- this indicates that your application was reviewed and did not meet the requirements of the job posting, or that the position had already been filled by another candidate. The final decision remains with the hiring school you are applying to. We encourage you to continue applying.If your application meets the requirements of the job posting, our coordinators will be in touch with you within one to two weeks for a pre-screening. We continually update the job board, so check back often.

    Due to the volume of applications we receive each day, we do not contact applicants if they are denied. Our advice is to keep an open mind, to apply, and to keep checking your application status on your profile.
