Can higher level of education supplement for teaching experience

Hello,

I have a Bachelor of Science and a Doctorate degree.  I have worked for about 2 semesters either as an English Tutor at a Public school and as a Teacher Assistant at the undergraduate level.  I am in the process of getting a teacher license from my local governing body.  I am looking into a teaching career in the UAE.  I have noticed many of the job listings require a minimum of 2-3 years teaching experience.  Would I still be considered for these teaching positions if I do not have the 2 to 3 year experience, but have a Doctorate degree and a teaching license?

    Hello Fatima;

    Welcome to the forum! and great question. The years of experience refers to relevant and post qualification experience. For example if you are looking to apply for an Elementary math position, you will need to have 2-3 years of experience in teaching math to elementary students

    I encourage you to have a look at the job board and find something that suits your qualifications and interests!
