Direct to school jobs

Good morning!

How are your experiences with direct to school jobs? Applied weeks ago and it is still marked as 'open for application'. My status is still 'submitted' and I wonder if they close when they found their candidate or if they already close it when you don't fit in their scheme but others can still apply? 

My second question is about the interview procedure. Got an invitation for Skype, replied but no answer so far. Is it normal that you have to wait one week and more till they return to you to schedule an interview?

    Hi Sandra, we don't do the recruiting for direct to school positions. Instead, schools go through the applications and conduct the interviews themselves. That being said, we can't give you an estimate in terms of timeline since it varies from school to school and isn't in our control. My best advice would be to follow up with the school directly.

    Thank you, Janice. I have already sent a reminder to the school and asked if my email has reached them. No reply yet. This is kind of weird. So I wonder what is the usual time between interview request and interview taking place. Depends maybe also on the policy of the school. :)

    I am here again. One month since the school contacted me for an interview. They never replied to my email and also not to the reminder. The position was closed one month after it was posted here (I guess they booked only 30 days here). I have no idea what is going on there. They want you for an interview and then contact you never again? Sorry, this is really strange.

    Hi Sandra;

    As mentioned before these applications are not reviewed by Teach Away's Placement Coordinators. Any communication regarding these positions takes place directly between applicants and the hiring institution. I would encourage you to keep an open mind, keep an eye on our job board and apply to the jobs that interest you.

    I applied for a position that was a direct hire (Aldar Academies West Yas School), it took about a month before they contacted me. I actually filled out the application twice. After a failed Skype interview due to miscommunication, I was able to reschedule and have a successful interview...
