Kia ora tātou katoa,
My name is Les(lie) Hoerara. I am a 47 year old Māori male studying as a distance student at Massey University. My professional inquiry for the year: Is Ka Hikitia - Accelerating Success 2013-2017 the catalyst for raising Māori student achievement in mainstream secondary schools in Aotearoa / New Zealand? Come Jaunuary 2017 I will hopefully graduate with the Master of Education endorsed in Educational Administration and Leadership.
I was born and raised in Wainuiomata which is a small town in Wellington, New Zealand. I recently moved home to Wharekāhika (Hicks Bay) which is about two and a half hours drive north of Gisborne to study in peace and quiet. I now live with one of my older brothers in our whānau homestead and enjoy helping in the community and schools.
I am looking for a position in the UAE as an educational consultant to use my knowledge of one of our Ministry of Educations policy documents to transfer similar innovations and initiatives across to the education sector in the UAE.
I have briefly looked at the posts already regarding questions about work overseas and will reiterate that the paper work can be very drawn out, but understand why. I look forward to getting more savvy with the posts and forums and getting to know some of you better.
Ngā aumihi o te wā ki a koutou katoa and best wishes to you all
Les
