My name is Sfundo Khanyile a qualified teacher. I just want to know to those who are teaching abroad, how is it like to be away from home? How is life in other countries? Please share with me your experiences or challenges!
Beware. Culture shock is likely, and can be quite disorienting. One thing: at first, you may feel a sense of liberation, because the old rules you grew up with do not seem to apply. Be careful! There are rules here too, and you have to find out what they are. And, no, everyone is not insane. They are just making different assumptions than you are.
Hi Sfundo;
Welcome to the forum! If you have a specific location in mind that you are interested in teaching I would recommend you to familiarize yourself with the country and what you might expect living there. Do keep in mind that we have some resources available for you on our blog posts. Once you get to the later stages of your application, our placement coordinators will also be there to answer any questions you might have and will prepare you for your departure
Good luck with your search and future applications Shirin
