I only have TOEIC certificate, does it meet the requirement to work abroad?

Greeting from Malaysia, everyone.

 

I am wondering if I only have TOEIC certificate and diploma with a few of working experiences. It such a waste if I dont use it wisely. I am looking forward to work abroad. Looking forward to hear from the feedbacks. Thank You.

    Hello Farah:

    Welcome to the forum!
    To start, as a minimum to teach English in a foreign country, the most basic requirements are a bachelor’s degree in any subject area and a TEFL or other ESL certification
    That being said, I would recommend you to keep an open mind, keep an eye on the job board and find something that interests you and you qualify for.

    Hi Im Anna Rollaine Dean, I'm already a licensed teacher in our country Philippines. I'm interested to teach abroad, I already have an experience as an ESL teacher. What do I need to comply in order to teach English as a second language here in Abu Dhabi. And how can I get an TEFL certification here in Abu Dhabi?

    Hello Anna;

    Welcome to the forum! In terms of UAE, the minimum requirements typically are:

    1. A Bachelor's degree, at minimum
    2. A current teaching license from your local government, or A TESL/TEFL certification, relevant to whatever subject you wish to teach (for example, if you wanted to teach math, you will need a teaching license in math; a TESL or TEFL is not a teaching license)
    3. Two years of relevant teaching experience at the required teaching level (for example, if you were applying to teach high school level English, then you would need to have had at least two years of teaching high school English; elementary or middle school level would not be accepted)

    Do keep in mind that UAE is one of the more popular locations for teachers and you might face higher level of competition. I would recommend you to keep an open mind and apply to the positions that interest you and don't be discouraged if you are no successful in your first applications

    Hi I'm Amoy, I'm ready to make a big move and move with my family and explore new opportunities teaching abroad. I've been teaching in the states for 15 years. I want to know, how possible is it to secure a teaching position that will also provide a way for my 2 school aged boys that will be 4 and 12 years old next year, to go to school? I really want to make this work.

    It is great to see that you are using the forum to find answers to your questions and I am happy to help you answer them! If you are planning to take your children with you, the most important consideration would be what kind of teaching benefits does the position you are applying to offers. You can get an idea if your kids' tuition and school will covered and what opportunities are available to them

    Hello .
    I am Rubab From Pakistan . I have almost completed my profile and applied few , which were suitable for me and according to my qualification but I didn't hear anything from teach away team . Any chance for me to get job from here ?

    I would recommend you to keep an open mind and apply to the jobs that interest you paying close attention to the requirements.
