Elementary Counselor and Learning Support Coordinator Positions in Qatar

Hello Janice, 

I am interested in the elementary counseling (posted Jan 19) and the learning support coordinator positions in Qatar. I know that most positions there require 2 years, but I noticed both positions say that "new graduates are welcome to apply."  I have 6 years of experience in special education, but not in a supervisory position. Also, I am currently counseling at the high school level. This is my first year counseling, but I have had some elementary counseling experience during my internship. Knowing the strict requirements of the area, do you think it would be worth my time to apply for one or both positions? Thanks in advance for your reply...

    HI Kenya, I don't know much about these specific positions, but seeing as you do have somewhat relevant experience, you could definitely apply even if it is open to new graduates. Definitely make sure your elementary counseling experience from your internship is under your "experiences" section on your teacher profile and also included in your resume. Since this position is open to new grads, our placement coordinators will look at experience prior to certification too. Hope that helps!
