I submitted my application but needed to resend my references emails and when I checked my app status it says closed. What does this mean and how does it effect my reference letters that will be sent in?
The same thing has happened to me. I have asked the same question, waiting for a response.
It sounds like you're further in the application process. Please double check with your placement coordinator as this will vary on a case by case situation. Thanks!
I am interested in re-applying for some jobs I previously applied for in the past. I have new experience and education to add. However, when I want to apply for them, it does not allow me to do so. Help!
We just updated our website over the weekend. Would you be able to try again and let us know if it works for you?
Hi Janice--I am trying to update my resume so that I have my most current supervisors as referees. Can I delete old references to make room for new references? Is there a limit of four references? Thanks! Amy
Hi Amy, you can certainly delete your old references by going to your Teacher Dashboard and going to the References section. We typically ask for 4 references, so it would be best to keep your number of references at that as a maximum. That way, our placement coordinators will know which ones to contact. Once a placement coordinator is in touch with you for a pre-screen interview, they will ask if it's alright to contact your references.
Thanks Janice...but when I go to references section, there is no option to delete. These are 3 completed references, from a year ago. I can only add one more reference, making the total 4, is this correct?
Hi Amy, are you able to click "unlock" for the references section? You should see a trash bin icon on the right of each reference. Let me know if that works for you! Otherwise, I recommend adding your fourth reference and letting your placement coordinator know when they ask to contact your references.
I have applied to some physical education jobs through the site but my applications now say closed. Does this mean the job vacancy has been taken as the job is still advertised on the website?
Thanks for your question. This could mean a few things: the position could be filled by another candidate and the job posting has not been removed yet; or you do not meet the job requirements posted for that particular position. However, do not fret! We encourage you take a close look at the job description and requirements to see if you meet the minimum requirements (in many cases these are set out by the government for visa requirements) and apply for those jobs you qualify for and are interested in.
So just to be certain... If the job applications' status says "closed" and I have not been contacted, it means that I have not been considered for the position?
Or does it mean that they are no longer accepting applications and they are now working through the applications to see which of the candidates meet the necessary requirements?
I need to know whether I need to wait for a response, how long it could take to get a response from the prospective employers etc... I am working at a school and need to provide notice of resignation a quarter in advance at least. So I would just like some clarity on whether I need to start making the necessary arrangements or not.
It means either or, meaning if you didn't meet the requirements or if the job has been filled your application will be closed. Because of the volume of applications, candidates will only be contacted if they are chosen for a pre-screening interview. You can see the status of all your applications through your profile and on your dashboard.
I recommend you to keep an open mind and apply to the jobs that interest you
Good luck with your search
I have the same question about "Closed Application". I meet the specific requirements for the job I applied for, yet my application is closed. How can I be certain that I am no longer considered for the position and the reason why? I just want to know for future applications. Also, how can I contact my local recruiter in Houston, Texas.
You are correct, if your application is closed it either means that the position has been filled or that you did not meet the minimum requirements. Unfortunately because of the volume of applications we do not receive feedback from the school on each application and our placement coordinators will contact you if you are chosen for a pre-screening interview.
I would recommend you to keep an open mind, have another look at the job board and start applying to the jobs that interest you and you qualify for
Good luck with your search
I too would like to know what does application "closed status mean.
Please have a look at my responses in this thread and I hope it answers your question
Good luck with your search and future applications

I have applied for several positions and even to attend the job fair that will be held in San Francisco. Most of which says closed. What does it mean if the status besides the job fair says closed? I know I am missing the references portion of my application. Will this prevent me from being considered for available jobs? I am currently working on my references now.
I can see that you had couple of interviews, I wish you the best of luck in your remaining steps on the applications
Hi There, please advise in order to get a teaching post overseas does the applicant have to have teaching experience. I am a qualified teacher and have practice teaching experience however after i have qualified i have not got a position in a school as yet. Please advise as in most of the vacancy positions available they are requesting for 2 Year teaching experience.
