Do I need TESOL/TEFL certificate if I have BA degree in Applied Linguistics and finishing my MA degree in the same field

Hello! I've just registered my profile in order to find teaching jobs in Qatar. I posses BA degree in Applied Linguistics and finishing MA degree in the same field. I am teaching English in language schools as well as in language training companies , plus I am privately tutoring students. I have a question whether with such qualifications and experience I can apply for teaching positions (international and private schools in Qatar) or do I need to obtain TESOL/TEFL certificate ?

    Hi Darya, for all of our current positions in Qatar, a teaching license issued by state is required. This typically means completion of a BEd. Unfortunately a TESOL/TEFL certificate would not count towards this. I'd recommend that you go onto our job board and filter job category with ESL Instructor: https://www.teachaway.com/teaching-jobs-abroad

    Hi Janice,
    I have been teaching on and off for quite some time in Nigeria and India (my Husband's postings kept on changing). I recently completed and obtained a Diploma - Cambridge International Diploma in Teaching and Learning with distinction - this diploma is issued by The University of Cambridge, and also includes a Certificate (for module 1).

    Would this count towards a teaching license?

    I also have a BA (Honours) Eng Lit and a MA in Eng Lit from the Delhi University, India.

    I just got my TEFL certificate but don't have a bachelor's degree.Is it mandatory to have bachelor's to teach in qatar?
