English Teaching role offered in UAE with Ministry of Education but which City?

I have been offered a role to teach English in the UAE as part of the Ministry of Education reform.

I wanted to know what is the process from here? I have already sent all relevant documents what is the next step after this? Also, did you have a choice of which city to work in and did it get allocated to you?

I have chosen to work in Dubai but they confirmed I will not find out my school until I arrive in the UAE. I assume they already place you in the school prior to this, does anyone know when this may be so I can express my preferred location?

Also, general tips/advice on life in UAE and accommodation, living costs etc.

    What an exciting time for you! Congrats on your application progress so far.

    Let's start with location...

    UAE government programs don't allow much choice in specific location. If you land a job in the UAE, you won't find out until you arrive in the UAE exactly where you'll be living and working.

    Hi Brett,

    Thanks for responding to my post.

    I had a feeling you may say that, I did express my preferred Emirate and gave a clear rationale so hopefully they take this into consideration. Also, I submitted all my documents nearly two weeks ago and still heard nothing back around the contract and next steps, does this process usually take long and how soon can I expect a response?
