Is there an age limit?

Hello,

I really would like the opportunity to teach in Dubai and have applied for the past two years. I referred friends and recently a friend was contacted and I wonder why I have been overlooked again this year, is there an age limit? If this is the reason why I have not been contacted, please let me know so that I can remove my profile. Thank you.

    Some jobs do state maximum ages. I have seen 50, 55 and 60 on various adds for the Middle East. However, I have no idea how strict they are in their hiring practices. If they are like other areas, your qualifications may win out over the arbitrary age restrictions. I also know that some countries regulate hiring practices and schools cannot legally hire applicants over a given age. I am not sure if this is true of the UAE.

    I think the issue of age really needs attention. Some of us do not really know where we stand because I have tried to do my research but some countries do not touch the issue of age, whilst others have indicated. In fact the only platform that I have noticed they talk about age are in the TEFL internships and some adverts.
    I want to make a special request from Teach Away if they could please provide us with some clarification or a tabulation of just the country and the age limits. This would save us from extra unnecessary applications. Thank you.

    No wonder ... I have been applying from UAE to China since 2014 and stopped in frustration last year. If only the there is an auto system whereby 'Age Limit: 60' for the said country is stated immediately upon application. I am 62 but healthier than some younger generation who do not exercise. lol. Now its time to check the link given. Thanks.

    Never mind the quality feel the width . Just how old is a man who can run upstairs , play soccer and has blood pressure 125-75 , you tell me?
    He is less than 45 I would say . The passport says he is 72 . Why not make a medical and athletic test to discover how many, in their fifties , cannot run or go upstairs . Would it be fair to employ them and discard an active athlete just becuase he is much older ? Sounds daft to me.
    I hope the recruiters are not.
