Can one from Zimbabwe get a job abroad or only South African citizens

Hello am contemplating on doing the TELF 120hrs course so as to get a job abroad.  I am from Zimbabwe .

Is it posibile to get a job or only south African citizens are considered. The next question i have is that can i get a job teaching just by using my degree without TELF.

    If you have a BA and you are a native speaker of English or equivalent in proficiency, you can qualify to teach ESL, education-wise. Please check the individual positions you're interested in to see what other requirements are -- some teaching positions will require a TEFL certificate and some will require relevant teaching experience.

    Thank you for your response. My degree is a Bachelor of science in Family and consumer sciences.( Home Economics ).. i have tried to apply since 2013 but have never been replied. what am i doing wrong, or what is it i am missing?

    Do you have a Bachelor of Education or teaching license? These are not listed in your profile. If you don't have those, but are still interested in teaching abroad, we recommend that you apply to ESL teaching jobs only. Visa requirements, particularly for positions in the Middle East, will require you to be a licensed teacher. Please also add any relevant ESL teaching experience to your profile, if you have any.

    Hi Janice how are you doing well tell me i'm from Mozambique i would like to apply fro the teaching position i have study in south africa i obtained my Bachelor degree in Education ,And i also have a international certificate ITTO to teach abroad and i'm more than enough experience i have been teaching in different countries around Africa as well i use Mozambique passport my question here is could i be qualifier to work in Asia AS English teacher ? if yes would you mind sending me link of agency does select countries on this email as follow joaorecardo@webmail.co.za Thank you

    I am a Zimbabwean, studied education in Zimbabwe ( Diploma in Education & Bachelor in Education) and South Africa ( Bachelor in Education Honours Degree) and I have 16 years teaching experience (10 from Zimbabwe& 6 from South Africa). I really want to go and teach in Dubai/Abu Dhabi but have not yet got any response as yet. Where am I going wrong? Or you only take white teachers only? its better we know so that we do not waste any time applying and having false hopes

    Welcome to the forum! I had a quick look at your profile and noticed that you have created 2 accounts with different emails, your most recent account does not include the most important information needed for your application such as experience, certifications, or degree.     I am from Zimbabwe and would like to teach abroad-UK, UAE etc. I have been applying for teaching jobs for sometime now. I have a Diploma in Education and BTech in IT. May you asssit as how I can go about the whole process.

I had a quick look at your profile and you have great experience and qualifications under your belt, do keep in mind that for the positions you are applying to, you typically will need relevant recent experience. Don't be discouraged and I recommend you to apply to positions as you are interested in.

    Hello friends
    I am a Zimbabwean currently teaching in South Africa. I trained at a Primary School Training College ad majored in Mathematics. I have been teaching high school ever since which makes it almost 20years of teaching experience. I further recently graduated at the University of South Africa with an LLB(Law). I'm registered to teach in south Africa where I have been teaching since 2009 to date. I am not certain as to whether I should Apply for Primary or High School teaching posts....or legal posts? Please advice

    I would like to know if South korea can accept educators from Zimbabwe to teach english at their schools. I know that china does not consider anyone from Zimbabwe. It is their policy.

    Hi Michael,

    Are you a native English speaker? This is often a requirement for English teaching positions, not necessarily nationality. Hiring schools will usually require you to have a bachelor's degree and in some cases, a TEFL certificate, as well.

    Hey Joao,

    Thanks for asking. Typically, employers do specify a preference for hiring native English speakers. However, it is totally possible to be hired as a non-native English speaker. What also matters is that you have a TEFL certificate, perhaps some experience teaching, and that your accent isn't too challenging for English learners to understand.

    I am a 23 year old Zimbabwean, studying in south africa (finishing june). I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in public health. I have a south african study permit expiring Jan 2019. Do I qualify to teach english In china? English is my first language. I have tutoring experience from south africa.if I do qualify, do you have any recommendations for agencies I can use?

    I have an honours degree in history and development studies and I have work experience in English teaching and development work with an NGO. I am also waiting for my TEFL results which I am expecting in 10 days. Can you assist me get a job in China? I have had my certificates and police clearance notarised by the Chinese embassy already.

    I have a Master of Arts Degree in Religious Studies, a Post Graduate Diploma in Education and a TEFL Certificate and I have had a lot of teaching experience at different schools and colleges around Zimbabwe teaching Religious Studies and English Language. However, with that vast of experience and my qualifications I have been applying to the United Arab Emirates, China and other Asian countries but no avail. So, my question , is are Zimbabweans accepted to teach abroad or its only South African citizens who qualify for the posts that are advertised?

    I am from Zimbabwe but I completed my high school education in South Africa at an English speaking school. I did English as a home language in high school and then went on to study Dramatic Arts at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, would I be eligible for an ESL teaching post in South Korea? I am contemplating doing a TEFL course but it would be really helpful to know whether my application will be considered based on the fact that my nationality is not on the countries listed.
    Please advise.

    am from africa but it seems allmost all the job postings on teachway requires applicants to be from only south africa. if that is the case then there is no need taking the TEFL courses if i am not in thet domain

    I am Zimbabwean qualified ECD teacher wishing to venture into teaching in Asia and Middle East.I hold a diploma and currently studying for a BED..I live and teach in South Africa.I want to do the TEFL course but I am confused if we Zimbabwean nationals can qualify to teach in Asia .. please help so I can decide.

    I am from Zimbabwe can I get a teaching job in the Middle East or its not possible at all. I have at least 8years teaching experience.
