closed application

New to the site, applied for two posts obviously matching the requirements, my application was closed PRIOR to asking for my employment  references, which you then went ahead with!!  Is this not a waste of my time, my employers time.  Why ask for references AFTER closing my applications.  Can someone advise what that is about please?

    Has anyone been accepted to the UAE being 54 years old (or older)? I am new to the site, I applied in the morning for a job that seemed as though they were describing me exactly (experience wise). I have more than 20 years experience in the field they were asking and a Master's. By that afternoon, the position was closed. Could they have just decided based on my age that I didn't fit their requirements? Is there a list of countries vs age requirements that we can look at to avoid wasting time applying to positions we will not be accepted for?

    Hi Valerie, thanks for your question! We do accept 54 year old teachers for UAE positions. I can't view the particular reasons for why that job application was closed, and this could be for a variety of reasons, such as the job being filled. I'd recommend that you continue to apply to relevant teaching experiences, especially teaching French. I also noticed that you have a pre-screen interview later today -- good luck!
