I have been applying for many jobs on Teachaway for sometime now and I have not received any response, what could be wrong?

Hello everyone!

I trust everyone is doing okay. I have been applying for many Jobs in the middle east via this Teach-away platform for the past few months and I have not received any response. I am beginning to worry. (I have a BA degree and PGCE and I am currently working in my home country of South Africa).

Some help, advice or direction would be much appreciated!

    Hi Shikesh,

    Thanks for joining us on the forum. I have some questions that might help me provide you with the info you're looking for:

    - Is your PGCE considered a teaching license? Do you know if this credential carries some weight internationally?
    - How many years of teaching experience do you have?
    - Are you a native English speaker?
    - Have you considered an ESL position? Are you TEFL certified?

    Hello,

    I'm having the exact same problem, I finish my PGCE year at the end of May. I have a BA in Sociology. However majority of the positions I have applied for are now closed.

    I'm not sure what to do as I have not received any feedback. I would love advice on further imporvement, as I am really hoping to go UAE to work in the following September.

    Hey Farzana,

    I'm sure if I have a little more info I can shine some light on this for you!

    Do you have a teaching license? Are you applying for certified teacher roles or ESL instructor positions?

    Vacancies in the UAE often require 2 or 3 years of experience and a teaching license from your home country/state.

    Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have a Masters of Teaching degree and I'm a new graduate (graduated in November) I'm currently teaching in Australia but would like to teach in the UAE. Do I have a chance at getting a job or do I need more experience?

    Hi Sara,

    Do you have a teaching license as well? In the event you have a teaching license (or the Australian equivalent), your Master's of Teaching degree, and some classroom experience, you might be able to find a teaching job. However, finding one in the UAE may be challenging - typically jobs there require a minimum of two years' experience.

    I recommend making sure your teacher profile is complete and up-to-date, then applying for a couple of positions you may qualify for. It's definitely worth to see how applying for jobs you're interested in goes before ruling them out. Perhaps some employers are willing to budge when it comes to experience, especially considering that you do have some experience as a master's degree.

    Hi!
    I just applied for Kindergarten teacher jobs in China.
    I have 20 years of experience, a bachelor as a kindergarten teacher, a degree in English and more.
    I am from Norway will I be able to get a job in China?

    Hi Hege,

    While hiring decisions are up to the schools themselves in China and not us here at Teach Away, it does sound like you have some fantastic qualifications. I recommend applying for several jobs to maximize your chances and waiting a week or so to see if you hear anything back. You can also check in on your application status(es) from your teacher dashboard.

    Good day, i have also applied for a few of the listed posts, however, my profile states that it is only 95% complete. What might be the issue?

    Hey Omolemo,

    The remaining 5% could be any one of a number of small profile pieces. We find that most commonly those with a 95% complete profile are missing a profile picture. Do you have a profile picture? If not, upload one and this should bring you to 100%.

    Hi!
    It is now two weeks since I started to apply and I have got three interviews. They are all interested in giving me a job. One more question. Do most schools and kindergartens who are interested answer right away or could I get more response on the jobs I applied for two weeks ago?

    First, Congratulations on your success with getting interest from schools in China!

    I'd like to ask you a few questions as I have been offered a few contracts from schools in China as well.     Often, you'll hear back within a week. But it does depend entirely on the specific job you've applied for. What job was it? Once I know this, I can give you a more precise timeline.

    Hi Brett, I'm obviously wondering the same question. I have applied for one job on here, and a few others through Teachaway but that were direct to school applications. I have not heard anything back and the application just says submitted. I fear that its unsuccessful as its been about 3 months since. I have a Bachelors degree in Education, an honours degree in educational psychology, a teaching certification, 4 years experience in South Africa and 2 years in South Korea teaching English. I am looking for a classroom/homeroom teacher position now, not an ESL. Do you have any advice to offer me? My profile is complete and I'm starting to feel despondent!

    Good Day. I also have been applying but no feedback has been coming. I have applied for the Al Gharbia UAE posts. I have PGCE. 3 years experience. My profile is complete. My degree is accredited... All I see on the status is closed... What could the problem be?

    I 've done my MBA from Bangalore University (India) ... have been teaching since college days as a private tutor ... I have no teaching credentials/license ... My aim is to teach in Qatar in an international school I would like to know how can I get a teaching license n also how long will it take to get it n also the cost involved for the same.

    Hi Hajira,

    Teach Away does not currently issue teaching licenses, as licenses are provided by state or provincial governments. Have you looked into the necessary steps and associated costs for acquiring a teaching license in India?

    I think that might be the best place to start for you!

    I seem to have exactly the same issue. I am a qualified teacher with over 30 years experience. Not once has any application said anything other than submitted, never "under review." My first application was on 09 April...

    I have a teaching certificate. I have been teaching 18 years in Canada. How to find a position (virgin islands, Hawaii ect. I'm not having any luck on teachaway. I cant even apply for jobs. Any help would be great .

    I have yet to hear from anyone here that they have been hired. I have the same issue. While other platforms will contact you and update you, I don't seem to get any progress from this platform. Better to find info directly from the school and see if you can apply direct. But hey, anyone hired from Teach Away, feel free to share.

    Hi,
    Anytime I try applying for a job, teachaway keeps telling me 'You do not meet the minimum requirement for this job'. Meanwhile after going through the requirements for that specific, it turns out that I actually do meet all the requirements. Why does this happen to me every day? Please can you a propose a solution for it? Thanks.
