Teaching in East Asia as an Asian

I'm interested in Teaching abroad, and based on what I've seen so far. East Asia has a high demand, and a lower requirement than many other places. It seems like a good place to start for someone without experience and teaching licence (I will have a TEFL). However, I am of Chinese heritage and I look Chinese. From what I heard, the East Asian countries (China, Japan, Korea) would much rather hire foreign-looking (i.e. white) individuals. I would like to know, to what degree will my Asian heritage hinder my job hunt in East Asia. Thank you.
