How do I delete my profile?

If I want an automated response... I call my bank!!!

 

Looking to make a life-changing move with a family - was expecting something more than an automated 'visit the website and look for a job there', especially when I KNOW how much agencies get paid in finders fees.

 

Forums are DEAD which means no advice there either - no, I don't expect other people looking for jobs to reply! :-)

But, realise now that 'TeachAway' is not the agency for me and would like to delete my profile so would appreciate it if someone could:

 

a. advise on how to delete my profile

b. let me know if there is another agency that has the personal touch and could advise a family about a life-changing move.

If you wish to have your account closed please send us an email to info@teachaway.com, I had a quick look at your profile and you haven't applied to any positions yet, I highly recommend you to visit teachaway.com and find something that interest you and qualify for and apply to it!

    Hi Shirin. To be frank as a black African of Kenya origin do i stand a chance of securing a job abroad especially in Middle East? i have always applied and there seem to be no hope due to my origin.

    Hello Daniel ;

    Welcome to the forum! we have teachers from all over the world, couple of things to keep in mind when applying to positions, is to make sure 1. you meet the minimum requirements, 2. you are able to attend the interview sessions (if there are any listed) and 3. you qualify for a working visa in the countries you are interested in

    If you do keep these in mind and apply to the positions, you will have a good chance of landing an initial interview. That being said, some locations tend to be more competitive and do not get discouraged if you are not selected. Go back to the job board and apply to more positions

    Hi Shirin

    Before emailing to ask about places I'd best be suited for, I did that quiz. I'm suitable to teach anywhere according to the results which wasn't particularly helpful. It also doesn't address my husband's issue of qualifying in South Africa with a Bachelors there - is this recognised overseas? (He hasn't done QTS so is not qualified to teach in the UK.) I need to know this before taking the plunge!

    I think people travel abroad for many reasons and having taught in 3 countries I know how different each one can be. I have been looking for more 'tailored' information. Moving a family is very different to moving on your own and the quiz gives no indication of what would be in store for my own children should we move to any of those countries.

    I'm also nervous about completing my profile as I'm not sure what the next step will be - currently I would rather my employer was not contacted until I was more certain of my options. If I complete my profile, what are the next steps? Is someone likely to contact my employer?

    Thank you for responding to my query. I apologise for being abrupt previously but was really hoping for some information that would point me in the right direction and was very disappointed by the email response I received.

    Hi Michele;

    Teaching abroad and making the decision to do so, understandably is a difficult one, but you have to keep in mind that the reward of taking your teaching career abroad can be extraordinary. If you and your husband, are thinking about making the move together, there are a couple of things to keep in mind, 1.what are the teaching benefits like for the position you are applying to? (if you accept the position can you and your husband live comfortably?) 2. is he also wanting to teach abroad? 3. does he qualify?

    Once you take into account these questions, you can determine what the next steps will be. If he doesn't want to teach abroad, I would recommend him to do his research on what he can find. If he is interested in teaching, and has no qualifications, looking into getting qualified is the first step.

    With that being said, I would recommend you to keep an open mind, be patient, complete your profile and start applying to some of the positions that interest you
