Question regarding certification

Hello! 

My name is Ian and I am currently an instructor at a few different colleges in Chicago. I'm new to this site and had a question regarding job applications:

Within the world of IEPs and ESL classes here, instructors are required to have either TEFL certificates or MAs in Teaching English as a Second Language or Applied Linguistics or similar fields. When looking at jobs on this website, are MAs considered qualifying certifications, or are additional certificates required?

    Hi Ian, just to clarify, do you have a teaching license or certification? Depending on which state you have taken your Masters in, you may or may not receive a certificate in teaching ESL. If you do have a teaching license/certificate, you can look for jobs for certified teachers. If you don't, you will be limited to only ESL Instructor positions. You can filter these jobs on our job board under "teacher category": https://www.teachaway.com/teaching-jobs-abroad
