Hi, everyone.
Any comments about teaching english in Chagsha? I would like to hear from you
China is a complicated place full of constantly changing rules. Find out as much as you can. Some of the people I know have been told that the TEFL certification done online is no longer acceptable. So people have to return to their countries, etc. to take the course. The other very important thing is the VISA. Schools will promise you a working visa and then do little or nothing to get the visa. Then they send you to Hong Kong, and you are working illegally. Make sure you get a Z visa before you go, and once there, push constantly for your work visa.
Thanks for your repply, Brenda F.
Hi Ivson and Brenda,
There are no ESL Instructor roles in China on the Teach Away job board that require an in-person TEFL certification.
In fact Teach Away is partnered with the University of Toronto's Faculty of Eduction, who we've worked with to produce a leading TEFL course. It's 100% online and recognized by top hiring schools around the world.
If you have questions about teaching English in China or acquiring the right TEFL certification for you, just let me know and I'd be happy to help.
Best, Brett
