Job Inquiry from Philippines

Hi,

I am a newbie in your site. However, I am very much interested to pursue a teaching career abroad (South Korea to be specific). Sadly, as I read some of the requirements, Bachelor's Degree should be obtained from South America, Canada and other prestigous country. I am a degree holder from the Philippines and a licensed school teacher. Right now I am planning to enroll in an online course to have the TEFL certificate. Do you think I have a chance to pursue a teaching career abroad?

 

P.S: By the way I have a part time job as an ESL Teacher for Koreans.

    Hi Rhandy,

    Unfortunately this is sometimes the case because of visa requirements. We recommend that you double check with your local embassy (particularly the Korean one, if you're interested in teaching there) and seeing what the visa requirements are for your particular case. Typically, schools will require Native speaking proficiency as well. A TEFL certificate would also help set you apart from other candidates who don't have one.
