Can a newly qualified teacher be accepted for a job in Qatar

Hi my name is Nicky

I just graduated end of March. I have applied for jobs in qatar and made it through to the video interview but I have not heard anything since then. I was contaced by a teachaway agent to attend the inperson interviews but I recieved no feedback as to where the interviews are held or if I am still supposed to attend.  I have since applied for another two teaching jobs in Doha, Qatar. My husband and my dad worked there for quite a few years and I have been to Qatar a few times as well. I only have experience from my teaching practicles. I really want to be conciderd for a job. I am busy with my TEFL 150 hours online.

    Hello Nicky;

    Welcome to the forum! I recommend you to get in touch with your placement coordinator to check in on the status. Keep in mind in some cases we keep your application on hold in a pool of candidates curated for the next start date intake. As soon as we receive interview information for future start dates, we will get in touch to see if you are still interested.

    In the meantime I recommend you to go to the job board and apply to the position that you are interested in

    Hello Shirin,
    I hope this message finds you all well, I have applied for several SEN/SEND positions. My applications is still showing submitted on my dashboard, does it take teachaway longer than 2 weeks to review your applications.

    Hi Delisa,

    If your application is still showing submitted, this means it has not been reviewed yet. Typically, jobs that are handled by Teach Away do not take longer than two weeks to be reviewed. If your application is taking longer than this, you're likely dealing with a direct-to-school job (when the employer handles the review and hiring themselves and Teach Away simply posts the job for them) OR you're dealing with a position that our recruitment team is not yet reviewing for (this happens rarely, but is possible).

    Which position(s) specifically are still showing as submitted on your dashboard?

    I am also still waiting. Submitted my Application on 13th March, have still not heard anything back. Can you please check what is going on with it?

    Hello. I have graduated last year with a qualification in English from Botswana. Am I legible to work that side? If so, what do I need to do to afford the opportunity?

    Hi Pono,

    I am not sure what you mean by "that side"! Do you have an idea of what country you'd like to find a job in? Do you have a teaching license? TEFL? Is your qualification in English a bachelor's degree? Are you fluent in English?

    If you provide answers to these questions, I can definitely provide some accurate information to help you in your job search!
