Can I use the ABCTE certificate as a teaching License for the U.A.E

Hello,

I am enrolling in an ABCTE course in order to become a certified teacher in the State of Florida or internationally. However, before I enroll, will this allow me to reach the criteria in order to teach in the U.A.E? I meet all of the qualifications for a job in the U.A.E. I have almost 4 years experience, TEFL Certification, a Bachelor's degree, teaching abroad experience, etc. However, my Bachelor's degree is in Marketing Management. Ooops.

    If your course certifies you to be a licensed teacher in the State of Florida, you should be good to teach internationally as well, including the UAE. All our current positions in the UAE do require a teaching license, so this is definitely a step in the right direction. However, please note two things: 1) I'm not sure if your course is online, but a small handful of schools will not accept online certifications -- please double check the job requirements when applying. 2) The number of years of teaching experience required in the job requirements section refers to post-qualification experience only, unless otherwise stated.

    Because you have all this teaching experience, you will be well-positioned to teach abroad after you complete your certification, but you *might* have to go for a position that accepts newly licensed teachers before applying to UAE positions. I recommend you keep an eye out closer to the completion of your course as we may have new positions that have different requirements.
