Hi

Myself and my fiancee (to be husband by the time we move away to teach), hope to teach in Dubai in September 2016.

We are very eager to work in the same school if we can. What is the best way to go about this- is it best to write it in the cover letter or maybe do a joint cover letter?

Also, is it best to upload one cover letter for all jobs to be left in my documents on my profile or best to do an individual cover letter for each school?

    Hi Eva, great to hear! The both of you will have to create an individual teacher profile and add each other as dependents on your own profile. From there, apply to the same programs and schools. You don't need to address in this in your cover letters -- once you or your fiance are a candidate of interest, a placement coordinator will be in touch with you for a pre-screen interview and you can explain to them your situation. Also, you can upload just one cover letter because it's mostly for our recruiting team to learn more about you.

    Can I just check then that the cover letter should not be school specific and instead be about my interest to teach in the UAE in general? The cover letter is to Teach Away and not the principal of a school?

    If you're applying to ONLY positions in the UAE, it should be UAE in general and not specific to the school. Sometimes some teachers aren't sure where in the world they want to teach, and in that case, they should just highlight their skills and not mention a specific country. If you're set on the UAE, then specifying UAE is fine. I'd address the letter to "Dear Hiring Manager" and using Teach Away as the address in your letterhead is fine.
