Why has my status not changed?

Hi,
I have applied to several teaching positions a few of weeks ago. My status has remained as “submitted” ever since then. My application in the ‘Applicant Center’ has also not changed and has remained as “New”. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me what this means? Do I still have a chance of finding a teaching position or have all positions been filled for the upcoming academic year?

    Hi Elizabeth,

    You definitely still have a chance at finding a teaching position with us for the upcoming academic year.

    A "submitted" status means that you have successfully applied and that the potential employer or the recruitment team at Teach Away have not closed or disqualified your application. I can likely provide some more info if I know which positions you've applied for! Would you mind to share the URLs of the specific job postings you applied to?

    How Brett,am having the same issue. My application status on my teach away account dashboard has been showing submitted for over a week. I applied for several teaching position, two of my teaching job application status was updated as "closed" . The remaining 3 teaching job application status on my dashboard which is directly handled by teach away recruitment team is still showing submitted for over a week . what does that mean.

    Hi Adaobi,

    While I cannot be certain, this likely means that the employer has not yet scheduled IPIs (in person interviews). As a result, our team is likely keeping your application open so that when interviews are scheduled, your application is still eligible. Otherwise, if they closed your application, you would not be considered for an IPI in the event they do get scheduled.

    Hi Brett,in your response to my last question. You told me that it is likely that the empolyer has not scheduled a date for an in-person interview and that is why the recruitment team has left my application open.I gathered from another teacher recruitment website,UAE Ministry of Education schools will be holding in- person interview at London,Manchester and UAE on June,2018. What do you have to say about this.

    Hi Brett,
    I am a little concerned. It has been a while since I sent you the url's for the applications I have submitted. The one just disappeared off my dashboard the other is still there. Is there a problem? If so, what can I, do to improve my chances.

    Hi Elizabeth,

    Thanks for bumping this up. As you can see, the forum is a busy place and sometimes (although rarely!), the odd comment does slip by me.

    I've just taken a look at both the URLs you sent over. Unfortunately it looks like both of these positions are now closed, which means the employers are no longer advertising their vacancies.

    Have you been applying for more jobs? I recommend always applying for jobs that you are qualified for and interested in - trying to apply for a couple of jobs per week on Teach Away is a great way to increase your chances of being interviewed and hired.

    Which countries would you be most thrilled to teach in? I can definitely recommend some jobs for you.

    Also, make sure your profile is up-to-date and COMPLETE (a 100% complete profile makes a big difference when you apply).
