Does a certification in ESL (in the state of TX) cover any requirements regarding TEFL

I will be graduating in May with my Masters and certifications in EC-6, ESL, and PPR (passed all 3 state tests). I was wondering if this covers any requirements regarding TEFL? I have not been given my certifications so I am unable to post them (I will get them in May, once I graduate). Also, does student teaching and subbing fall under "teaching experience" for TeachAway?

    Hi Amanda, if you have a license to teach issued by your regional teaching license authority, then, chances are, you won't need a TEFL certification. However, obtaining a TEFL is a nice supplement and can help you with your job search as it shows employers that you are serious about teaching internationally.

    You can add your certifications onto your Teach Away profile for now, along with your expected date.

    Unfortunately the "teaching experience" refers to post-qualification experience, but definitely do add these to your profile and resume as it will help with your job search. However, for example, if a job requirement states 2 years of teaching experience is required, it means that 2 years of post-qualification teaching experience is required.

    I have ESL certification in GA, but can you have more than one profile because my current profile reads Director? I have 13 years as director also but I would like to teach ESL.
