I am Maria and am new to this forum i am really interested working in the Emirates, how long does it take for the application to be reviewed

    Good day everyone, I just submitted my applications for teaching jobs, if there is anyone who knows how it works, I would appreciate some assistance. How long does it take for schools and the agents to respond?

    You may check on the status of your application by clicking the button labelled "My Apps" on your profile at www.teachaway.com.

    If your application status is "closed" -- this indicates that your application was reviewed and did not meet the requirements of the job posting, or that the position had already been filled by another candidate. We encourage you to continue applying.

    If your application meets the requirements of the job posting, our coordinators will be in touch with you within one to two weeks for a pre-screening. Due to the volume of applications we receive each day, we do not contact applicants if they are denied. Our advice is to keep an open mind, to apply, and to keep checking your application status on your profile.

    Hi all;
    Welcome to the forum, In terms of UAE-specific positions, the general requirements across the board include (note this can be different based on different positions/schools):
    1. A Bachelor's degree, at minimum
    2. A current teaching license from your local government, relevant to whatever subject you wish to teach (for example, if you wanted to teach math, you will need a teaching license in math; a TESL or TEFL is not a teaching license)
    3. Two years of relevant teaching experience at the required teaching level (for example, if you were applying to teach high school level English, then you would need to have had at least two years of teaching high school English; elementary or middle school level would not be accepted)
    4. A TESL/TEFL certification is not required for all positions, but it would certainly make you a more competitive candidate
