How important is the TEFL certificate

I have a masters degree in education will opportunities increase in the UAE if I have  TEFL certificate

    Hi Kathy:

    Welcome the forum! A TEFL certificate is the minimum requirement for all ESL teaching positions , it is considered an ESL certification. In addition, if the position is not asking for a TEFL as a minimum requirement, it will certainly make you a more competitive candidate amongst other applicants

    Thank you for the timely feedback and I am at present looking into TEFL certificate programs online. i am hoping that the basic course will suffice sense I have ESL endorsement embedded in my masters degree.
