Will there be any job opportunities in January 2017?

Hi all!

I am looking for an opportunity to teach Biology in the UAE in 2017. Are jobs usually only available from August, or are there jobs that will be made available earlier in the year?

 

Also, I'm not a native English speaker, but have taught in English now for almost 6 years. Is it necessary to complete the TEFL course in order to assure a position in the UAE? Would that affect one's salary?

    Hi Marie;

    Welcome to the forum! :) Do you have a teaching license? I just want to let you know that typically the majority of our positions in the Middle East do require a teaching license issued by state, with at least 2-3 years of post-qualification teaching experience. Unfortunately any ESL certificates such as a TEFL or TESOL do not count towards this.

    Hi everyone.
    My name is Sher and I am from Tajikistan. Last two years I have been doing in China an english teaching job. Before I have studied in Munich, Germany for four years. So i can speak also German. But I dont have any teaching certificates. Can I work in Ecuador without TEFL?

    Hello Sherali:

    Welcome to the forum! Teaching English in Ecuador is possible in private language schools as well as universities, although the latter will require higher qualifications. Usually, teaching English in language institutes does not require previous experience, although it is certainly an asset that can lead to higher-paying teaching jobs. Teaching at the university level usually requires previous experience.
