Hi all,
I'm applying for teaching jobs in Dubai, can someone talk me through the process and what happens at each stage. Has anyone recently gone through this and been successful?
Hi
They will review your application and if you meet the requirements, you'll be contacted for a pre-screen telephone interview. If you're successful, they then invite you for a face-to-face interview to determine whether you are the right candidate for the position! :)
Hi Shuma, Thank's for this. I'm guessing you've already been through this process and working in the UAE. I've applied and if successful what can I expect from the telephone interview? What kind of questions can I expect and what kind of questions should I ask? Would the face-to-face interview be in the country I applied for or where I'm currently living? If all is going well, do they let you go and visit the school and accommodations before signing the contract. As you can imagine it's a massive move for my family.
Thanks again for replying.

Hi,
I have applied to the UAE Government Schools jobs to teach Maths. I had a phone interview before christmas but it wasn't really an interview as such. I wasn't even asked why I wanted to teach in the UAE. More of a chat going over the details on the application.
I have since found out I have been shortlisted for a face to face interview which is in the same country (UK) as I live. As for the school/accommodation with the Government school jobs you don't know where you are teaching until you get to the UAE so it's different.
Thanks,
Ian.
An update - travelled to London this Monday for the face-to-face interview.
Very stressful test (all A-level Maths btw for us Maths peeps), interview didn't go very well but I have been offered a position.
Happy Days!
Ian,
Wish you the best. I will be in Abu Dhabi.

Thanks Tonnett!
