Being a non-native English speaker, do I have any chance of landing an English teaching job at the UAE government schools?

Hi everyone,

I am a Dutch citizen studying for my B.Ed teaching English as a second language. I also have a Master of Science (Social Sciences) and I am going to take the IELTS and a CELTA course later this year.

I am very interested in working for one of the government schools in the UAE, and curious about the possibilities for non-native English speakers. Does anyone know what my chances are, or will they simply only hire from the native speaking countries?

It's still far away, as I finish my B.Ed in June 2020. I am just very curious about stories out there.

    Let's cut to the chase - with these qualifications, you will definitely qualify for and be in a good position to be hired in a UAE Government School job once you have your degree and IELTS/CELTA.
