Moving with dogs?

Does anyone have any information about moving to Abu Dhabi with pets? I figure it would be my responsibility to organize and pay for all of it. But if the school provides housing is there any way to find out if they allow dogs? And if not whether I could instead get a housing allowance so I could find my own pet friendly housing? thanks!

    Hi Melissa, this will depend on the particular school with regards to housing and would be a question for your placement coordinator during your prescreen interview.

    Thanks! I was wondering about ADEC, but it looks like I wasn't qualified for the ADEC job teaching middle school math since my application was closed today. Probably because my experience is in teaching in a self-contained special education classroom, even though I am certified in both special education and grades 7-12 math? I'm going to look at positions at private international schools instead.

    Hi Melissa, that sounds like a great direction. In your teacher dashboard, special education is not listed as one of the subjects you have taught, so you could consider adding that as well to make sure the recruiter sees it. After that, you can consider applying for special education teaching positions as well. Good luck!

    Really? When I look at my profile it shows that I have it listed. Can someone double check for me on Teach Away's end since I'm wondering why my application for a special Ed job with an international school was closed. If I upload more documents (like a cover letter, references, copies of my teaching certificates) could I reapply? Is it possible I wasn't considered because I haven't uploaded those (or others) yet?

    I am particularly interested if adding a cover letter would help me get an interview. I have a lot to offer that would make me a good candidate that isn't reflected in my experience and certifications; such as my international travel experience, my visit to the UAE and desire to return and live there, my family that lives in Dubai and Saudi Arabia, and my family members who are Muslim and give me a familiarity with the religion and culture.
