When should I expect to hear back from an agent?

Good day, 

I have applied to four different jobs as listed under Teachers in UAE. On the dashboard page it does show that my application has been submitted. How long, roughly, will it take for someone to inform me of whether or not I have the job and whether or not I qualify for an interview? 

Please will someone also let me know if its possible for my husband to relocate with me. I dont have any children but my husband is also looking for a job there and wants to relocate and live with me should I be accepted by one of the school. We would hate to live seperately.

    Hello,
    Unfortunately I have clicked to submit my application for female English teacher job. It's been showing in my dashboard.. How to remove it?or cancel that application???

    After I applied, I got a phone call for the initial screening the next day. Hope this helps!

    Hi Victoria and everybody,
    My dashboard is full with teaching jobs I applied since April 2016. But, no offers came except from 4 scammers! Fortunately I explored further before remitting USD1,400 to a travel agent. Please take note that employers would be the one directly involved to settle all the work permit, visa, etc and not dubious travel agents or somebody holding 2-3 posts like HR Manager/Director/CEO...seems that these syndicates are themselves confused and with typo included.

    Hi Katherine, I won't start applying until the end for this year and next to start in 2017. I am 53 and hoping to teach in the UAE, so i am slightly older too. Don't give up, wishing you all the best :)

    I received an phone interview a day or two later after submitting my application. I was told that I would get an in person interview in the fall for the 2017 school year. So i assume you will hear something then.

    for all applications you will be able to check the status as per below:
    You may check on the status of your application by clicking the button labelled "My Apps" on your profile at www.teachaway.com.

    If your application status is "closed" -- this indicates that your application was reviewed and did not meet the requirements of the job posting, or that the position had already been filled by another candidate. We encourage you to continue applying.

    If your application meets the requirements of the job posting, our coordinators will be in touch with you within one to two weeks for a pre-screening. Due to the volume of applications we receive each day, we do not contact applicants if they are denied. Our advice is to keep an open mind, to apply, and to keep checking your application status on your profile.

    Hi Shirin,
    I noticed that all my applications since February have been given the "closed" status, including the job fair in San Francisco, and I am curious to know why. My profile showed that I am a licensed teacher with a Masters degree (currently pursuing my PhD in Education) with over 30 years of teaching experience, including 17 years overseas - 8 years in The Bahamas and 9 years in Bermuda. What requirement(s) am I missing?

    Welcome to the forum! It does sound like you have great experience and qualifications under your belt. Unfortunately, with the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to give individual feedback, this is the same for the Job Fair. I would recommend you to keep an open mind and apply to some other jobs that interest you and you qualify for

    Hello,
    I am an English teacher with over than 15 years experience of teaching different skills of English. I have MA in TEFL and also TESOL. It has been more than 6 months that I started applying for teaching jobs in the UAE and specifically Dubai, but unfortunately nothing happened yet.
    I wonder if you help me to find a way. I feel devastated and disappointed.

If your application status is "closed" -- this indicates that your application was reviewed and did not meet the requirements of the job posting, or that the position had already been filled by another candidate.     The best way to ensure the initial interview ( over the phone) is to make sure your profile online is completed. You will most likely receive an email shortly after where an agent will set up a phone interview time- you will then confirm and in a day/or two you will receive a call. Hope all goes well.

    I applied a week ago for jan an aug 2018 posts. Is there a possibility that I could be in for the Jan posts? Maybe I am a bit Hasty but I am thinking of children here In South Africa we start school Jan, so I dont want them to start next year.

    Hi, I am also wondering about relocating. Are there carpentry jobs? My husband will be moving with me if we decide to go but it needs to be financially viable. Can someone let me know what the trades are like over in UAE? Companies that employ Irish etc?

    Hi Caithriona,

    Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure about current employment opportunities for carpenters in the UAE. The Teach Away job board is focused on education jobs. However, I would guess that since the country is growing quickly, there could very well be carpentry jobs available.

    Is your husband looking for a teaching job?
