Relevant Experience but Closed Application?

I recently applied to several English teacher positions in UAE.  My qualifications for some of the jobs fall under the "preferred qualifications" categories, yet all my applications are still going straight to closed.  Is there a possible reason for this?

    Hi Vanessa,

    Thanks for your question. I've just taken a look at your profile and thought you might find it useful to know that the positions in Abu Dhabi require a Bachelor's degree or Master's specifically in Education. Hope that helps.

    Is this a new requirement? I have a friend that I went to college with that has worked there for 6 years and her bachelor's wasn't in education?
