Teaching Certification

Hi!

I am very interested in teaching abroad and have six years of teaching experience, however none of them required a teaching certification. I am currently enrolled with the Texas Teachers Alternative Certification program and will have all components necessary to receive a probationary certificate completed in the next two months. Can I be considered for one of your jobs with only a probationary certificate? If I can be hired in the state of Texas, can I be hired internationally espcially with all my years of experience.

    Les here from New Zealand. I posted in an earlier post for a similar inquiry esp. where applications are made for any jobs in the UAE - they require alongside evidence of teaching experience, a form of certification. This can be done in the set-up of your dashboard, which I'm assuming you've done if your post has appeared here. Can I suggest that you try and put your best foot forward from the beginning by completing all of the requirements. It's not kind or appropriate for potential employees to remind you of what is required, when in some instances it is quite clear about what they want. Never leave a employer second guessing, help them make an informed decision with what you have provided so that you become an automatic selection for an initial phone contact, the skype-interview and where possible, an offer - you're meant to do all of the running around not them.

    Hey Mollie;
    Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you have great experience. Once you receive your certificate you will be considered a new graduate and unfortunately your experience before will not be considered as certified teaching experience. Typically, most of our postings require you to have certified teaching experience. That being said, keep an open mind, have a look at other postings and considering your years of experience there will be opportunities available for you to apply to

    What do you feel are the chances of being hired for a position with my previous experience, but not having certified teaching experience?

    Any recommendations for areas to take a look at then you say there will be opportunities?
